1. Manufacturer battery data
Battery model and Wh rating come from manufacturer-linked sources. Multiple official battery variants remain separate.
2. General 2026 screen
The general screen uses the 100 / 160 Wh battery bands, 15 portable devices, and up to 20 spare batteries of any type in total. An operator may approve more than 20 spares; within the standard screen, no more than two lithium-ion spares may be in the 100–160 Wh band and those require operator approval. Power banks are screened separately under IATA's 2026 passenger guidance at a maximum of two units and no more than 100 Wh each.
3. Airline overrides
An official airline source can tighten quantity, capacity, placement, marking, power-bank storage/use or route rules. Missing values fall back to the general screen and are labelled as such.
4. Connections are not averaged
Every operating carrier is evaluated independently. The trip status reflects the strongest encoded restriction, while device placement remains visible segment by segment.
5. Route and date awareness
Only explicit airline route restrictions are matched from the optional route text. The travel date is used to warn when the data review is old or the trip enters the 2027 rules period.
6. Conflicts and no false precision
VERIFY means exactly that. We do not turn a generic battery page into a drone-specific placement rule. Where a current airline page publishes a power-bank rule that differs from IATA's general 2026 passenger guidance, the checker surfaces the difference and links the airline source instead of silently choosing the more permissive answer. A green screen is never airline authorization.
7. Privacy by default
The checker runs in the browser. Saved setups use localStorage only after the user clicks Save; share links encode the non-personal setup in the URL.
8. Scope
- Airline carriage screening only.
- No destination flying-zone, registration, customs or import-permit decision.
- No substitute for operator approval in the 100–160 Wh band.
- Damaged/swollen/recalled batteries are a hard stop.
