Do not let loose/spare lithium batteries disappear into a gate-checked bag.
The 30-second gate checklist
- Tell the gate agent the bag contains lithium batteries and a drone.
- Remove all spare/loose lithium batteries before the bag goes to the hold.
- Remove power banks.
- If the airline requires the drone battery removed for checked carriage, remove it too.
- Keep removed batteries protected against short circuit in the cabin.
Why this matters
Spare lithium batteries are a cabin-only category. A bag that was acceptable as cabin baggage can become non-compliant the moment staff decide to gate-check it.
Use airport mode
The checker has an “Airport mode” that enlarges the essential verdict, battery count and source links while hiding most nonessential page elements.
